Our Technical Partner has the latest, state-of-the-art unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. With the use of UAVs, enhanced environmental services are offered to a wide range of clients, including multinational oil and gas companies.
Our Technical Partner use of UAVs appeared in the news following its first aerial survey in southern Iraq using UAV. The press release featured in Trade Arabia, Arabian Oil & Gas and Energy Global, and via Trade Arabia in Middle East Association and Live Drone News.
The use of UAVs gives access to difficult to reach areas and sensitive terrains in a non-restrictive manner, and is always complementary to on-site inspections by an environmental professional.
The advantages of using UAVs include:
- It’s quality data provides a more complete picture of your site when compared to the number of hours it would take on the ground to obtain the same level of information;
- It can be more economically efficient for larger properties and remote areas;
- It provides real time photography or video of a site for spills; and
- It allows an environmental professional to access more of the site in a shorter time and with less potential exposure to site hazards. Often, sites are overgrown and difficult to navigate in a single visit.
Data acquired using UAVs are very helpful in many types of environmental projects including:
- Large property environmental site assessments (ESAs);
- Remediation monitoring;
- Spill assessments for oil spills on land and water and receptor identification;
- Environmental Monitoring and Change Detection;
- Environmental Liability Assessments; and
- Environmental Impact Assessments
