Geographic Information System (GIS)

Data acquisition and data management are critical to all the environmental services that Frontline Environmental offers, especially within the areas of Environmental Services. With our Technical Partner we apply GIS technology to improve information management and decision support system services.

GIS has been placed at the heart of our core project process as it provides powerful data management and analysis tools to enable our specialists to review baseline data and survey data from the field to inform their assessments.

GIS provides the capability to capture, analyze, interpret and present geographic data. It acts as a locational repository, providing users with the ability to establish patterns, trends and relationships between data.

Typical GIS applications in Environmental Services include the following:

  • Environmental impact assessment;
  • Monitoring pollution;
  • 3D conceptual modelling of subsurface stratigraphy, transmission infrastructure and contaminant pathways;
  • Site investigation and assessment; and
  • Due diligence reporting.
